Sunshine List (1)

The world around us is full of negative energy. Watch news on TV and what you see are reports of kidnappings, massacre, flooding, killing, rape, mud slinging of politicians. You rarely see reports that are positive like the CNN's hero for this year, Efren PeƱaflorida. Thanks God, there are still people like him. In the street, you encounter people who are arrogant, short- tempered.
Starting today, I'm creating this sunshine list meme. I'll try my best to make this a daily habit. In here, I will list all the things that I'm thankful for during the day. Although there are a lot of negativities around, I still have a choice to see the sunny side of the world. Appreciating the little things in life, my family, my friends, work, etc. So, today is the first! Bring it on...LOL...Let's see if I can make it for long....
Here I go, my sunshine list for today:
  • Hubby's massage last night. It just felt really good.
  • Having a good breakfast with hubby this morning.
  • The fresh air I breath.
  • Keona's sound sleep during the night.
  • Good health for everyone in the family.

So hearthless!

What a sad news! The massacre in the Maguindanao province is so apalling. With more than 40 people consisting of journalist, Mangundadatu family held hostage, raped and slaughtered is an act worthy of consternation. How can they be so heartless?

The question is what the government is doing now? And I just wondered why the government's reaction is not so aggressive with this heinous crime that happened in Maguindanao. Is it because the refuted perpetuators are known allies of the administration? And what about the government equipment (the excavator) being used in the crime? A lot of questions need to be answered. But justice should be served to the victims.

My heart goes out to all the victims of the Maguindanao province massacre and their respective families. Condolences to them. And may the elusive peace reign in the Philippines.

Gift giving tips

Few days from now and it’s already December! The mere thought of Christmas and new year gives me that special feeling of happiness deep inside. December is one of the busiest months in a year. With so many parties to attend, shopping to make and of course looking for that gift for our dear ones can be stressful and tiring. Here are do’s and don’ts for gift-giving.

Dos:

*Stay within the budget. The giver does not want to find himself broke at the end of the season.

*Think of gifts that the recipient will surely like.

* Give useful gifts. If the gifts is not useful, the recipient will probably just throw it away.

*Personalize the gift. Enclose a card with a handwritten note.

*Wrap the gifts beautifully. It will add value to the present.

*Give the gifts on time.

Don'ts:

*Don’t be a last minute shopper. Plan in advance so you’ll have more time to pick thoughtful presents.

*Don’t give personal items like lingerie, nigh ties or underwear.

*Don’t give gifts that are too cheap. They are usually not appreciated.

*Don’t presume that the recipient share your taste.

Edu Manzano as Vice President?

I have seen from the news on TV last night that Edu Manzano, the popular TV game show host and former Optical Media Board (OMB) chairman has finally nodded to be Gilberto "Gibo" Teodoro's official running mate in the 2010 Philippine Presidential election. This news came as a surprise because he was suposed to join the ticket of Presidential aspirant Noynoy Aquino.

Personally, as of now, I haven't made up my mind yet on whom to vote for the 2010 elections. I still need to scrutinize who really are fitted for the different positions. I want somebody who has integrity, someone who has a good track record, someone who is not only mentally good but someone who take actions and with good values. Someone who has willpower to really implement the laws and look at the common good of the Filipino people.

Mommy Dionisia: becoming popular nowadays

Mommy Dionisia, the mother of the Philippine's boxing champ Manny Pacquiao is becoming really popular this days just like her son. She has lots of commericial endorsements and she is now a starer in the movie Ang Tanging Pamilya. She's an "introducing" in the movie which stars Ai-ai delas Alas, former President Joseph Estrada, Sam Milby and Toni Gonzaga. She loves her popularity that she always waves her hand to her fans. Well, for me, I sometimes laugh at her Tagalog accent because she's really "Bisaya" like me.hehe. But I like Mommy Dionisia because she has no pretension...she's real.

Yesterday, Pappa saw the movie 2012 at the mall and he said that "Ang Tanging Pamilya" movie is also a hit. It's head-to-head with the famous foreign movie 2012 which seldomly happens when there is a simultaneous showing of a beautiful foreign movie and a local one. Who knows? " Ang Tanging Pamilya" movie will be another blockbuster?
